His Girlfriend Was Struggling With Her Hair Loss From Alopecia, So Boyfriend Shaves His Own In Solidarity

True love comes in all forms.

There aren’t many viral TikToks that evoke such emotion you may actually cry. But this is one of them. Eva Barilaro has alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss. For the first time in 10 years, she had to ask her boyfriend to shave her head. This was after months of growing out her hair.

The TikTok shows Eva in the mirror, getting emotional while her boyfriend shaves her hair. But then, she completely breaks down when he takes the clippers to his own head and shaves his hair off without hesitation in solidarity with the woman he loves.

The one-minute-long video shows the boyfriend shaving the head of his girlfriend. The girl, who suffered from alopecia, can be seen going through a roller-coaster of emotions in the clip. She smiles and cries as she looks at her boyfriend.

Once the girl’s head is fully shaved, her boyfriend suddenly takes the trimmer towards his head and starts shaving his head. She is shocked to see that and she breaks into tears. To show his support for his girlfriend, the boy also shaved his head. He also gives her a peck on the cheek as she cries.

The original footage was shared on TikTok back in May but has since exploded on other social media platforms as well. Thanks to one Twitter user Rex Chapman, the video has been viewed more than 11.5M times now and received over 215K likes.

Alopecia is a disease where the immune system attacks the hair follicles which causes hair to fall. Sometimes it can be in small patches but other times these patches combine and hairfall becomes noticeable.
