Since technology started developing rapidly, people have been replaced with all kind of machines to do their jobs instead. As has happened with every previous technological change, some jobs will be lost and new ones will be created. The most likely labor shift will be around automation, artificial intelligence and digital platforms.
So far robots have turned out to be good great at doing what programmers tell them to do. But how good are they at seeing jobs that aren’t being done, then inventing new technologies to fill the need? Everyday and more, the presence of robots it’s increasing and they are starting to boss us around and make us work hard nonstop.
In a lot of warehouses, call centers, and other sectors, intelligent machines are managing humans, and they’re making work more stressful, grueling, and dangerous. They’re not only the reason people are losing their jobs, but also a high risk to people’s mental health. If we make a list of things robots surpass people, that will be longer than vice-versa.
Their skills of handling tedium, extreme sensing, strength and speed, unwavering focus, perfect objective recall are way more developed than humans’ are. And if we make a list of all the things humans out-do robots that would have been empathy, flexibility, acceptability and trust., which skills if ever possessed by a robot would bring the end of humanity.
