Fine art photographer Joseph Ford skillfully captures the artistry of clothes blending harmoniously into their surroundings. Camouflage involves the strategic use of colors, patterns, and materials to seamlessly blend with the environment, whether it be concealing oneself, an object, or a location.
Joseph aptly named his series “Camouflage Sweaters” as he envisioned the perfect fusion of clothing with its surroundings, aided by the knitting expertise of Nina Dodd.
In Joseph’s own words, “For five years, I dedicated myself to creating these images featuring custom-knitted garments crafted by the incredible Nina Dodd. It all began when she presented me with a sweater inspired by the seat covers of Brighton buses. The opportunity was too remarkable to pass up, so we discovered a captivating model and photographed him on a bus. The success of that initial photo fueled my creativity, leading to the development of numerous ideas for camouflaged jumpers, thus shaping this ongoing series.”
