In Redwood City, California, there is an artist that his work might get the sense that something isn’t quite right in that city. Flowers that sprout from the shadows of bike racks, mailboxes that turn into shadow monsters and shady monkeys hanging around atop parking meters are the work of Damon Belanger, a graphic artist lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. His work is not something that you get to see every day.
He drew 20 fake shadows in the downtown area of Redwood City in order to bring more creativity to the area, and he succeeded in doing just that.
The artist said: “The shadows give regular mundane objects a lively spirit so people can have a little fun in their everyday life,” who makes them by chalking stencils onto the sidewalk before painting them dark grey.
