As a tribute to the animals that have provided comfort and support during quarantine, Ademar dedicates this work to them. His comic is a testament to the power of choice and the profound impact it can have on our lives.
It is no surprise that Ademar’s stories are so engaging, given his background as a screenwriter. Through his unique blend of storytelling and visuals, he creates emotionally resonant narratives that leave a lasting impression on the reader.
He shared how his comic strips came to be, saying, “I started making them without any particular intention, as a way to cope with a difficult phase in my life at the beginning of 2020. When I posted them, I was surprised to see how many people could relate to my experiences.
Encouraged by the positive feedback, I continued to express my thoughts and feelings through my art, and my audience grew. As the world was hit by the pandemic, I shifted my focus to explore the challenges that people worldwide were facing. And now, I use my comic strips as a medium to express my views on various issues that I deem significant, be it personal, social, or political.”
Ademar shared his recent social media success, saying, “I was overwhelmed when one of my comic strips went viral in Latin America in June this year. It received 100,000 likes and I gained 20,000 followers within a week. I even received messages of congratulations from famous people and profiles, which left me feeling ecstatic but also responsible.
I realized that I was no longer creating strips just for myself and my friends, but for people from different countries as well. I am grateful that the public has shown me a path to follow as an artist, and I am excited to explore it further and see what other opportunities await me.”
